Swimwise Club: Practical Information

All the practical information about our swimming lessons, clearly laid out in one place, so you can get off to a good start.

Practical

Swimwise Club uses innovative, portable swimming pools, which are slightly different from a traditional swimming pool complex. There is no traditional ticket desk where you buy tickets. Instead, you book your entry online and come to the pool at your chosen time slot.

Advance registration is mandatory

Why registration is mandatory:

  • To monitor the maximum number of visitors.
  • So that everyone can swim comfortably and safely.
  • Registration remains open as long as there are places available.

Automatic membership

When you register, you automatically become a member (free of charge) of the Swimwise swimming club.

On arrival

You enter via the boys’ or girls’ changing rooms.
Please leave your shoes to one side in the designated area.
Get changed in the communal changing room with lockers.
Please keep your registration document (ticket or confirmation) to hand; a supervisor may ask to see it.

How does the changing process work?

Swimming at Swimwise is similar to exercising in a sports hall: there are no individual changing cubicles as there are in traditional swimming pools.

What you can expect:

  • Separate changing rooms for boys/men and girls/women.
  • No mixed-gender changing areas, but there is an open changing area.
  • Would you like a bit more privacy?
  • Please use the separate toilet facilities, or use a changing towel. If you don’t have one, you can buy one from the supervisor for €15.

Showering = mandatory

Before entering the pool, you must have a thorough shower. We use natural, chlorine-free swimming water, so good hygiene and soap-free skin are essential.

Supervision & swimming abilities

For safety reasons:
Children under the age of 10 must always be accompanied by an adult.
Anyone who cannot swim independently and safely must also be accompanied at all times.

Minimum age

We have made a conscious decision to allow children ages 4 and up to participate in our swimming lessons. At this age, most children have developed sufficient motor, cognitive, and social skills to understand instructions, concentrate during class, and learn the basic skills of swimming.

Although younger children often enjoy playing in the water and can benefit from getting used to it, this is different from actually learning to swim. Swimming lessons require a certain degree of independence, attention, and developmental readiness in order to participate safely and successfully.

To ensure the highest quality of our lessons, the children’s safety, and their best chance of success, our swimming lessons therefore begin at age 4.
Do you have questions about the starting age, or are you unsure whether your child is ready to start? Feel free to contact us. We’d be happy to help.

  • A swimsuit or swimming trunks (not swimming shorts, as this makes it easier to learn the technique)
  • Please tie long hair back in a ponytail or plait, …
  • A bath towel, and a small towel to stand on is also handy
  • Shampoo and shower gel, if required, for a shower afterwards
  • Swimming goggles are allowed, but not compulsory

Yes, that’s fine. Sometimes this can make your child feel safer.

However, the teacher may sometimes ask them to take them off for a moment, so that the children also learn to get water in their eyes and not mind it.

No, that’s certainly not the intention.
We’ve noticed that children often swim better when their parents aren’t watching.
Of course, it’s fine to watch for a moment, but preferably not for the whole lesson.

Absolutely! There are changing rooms (separate for boys and girls) and showers provided!

We do our very best to ensure that your child has the same teacher as much as possible.

However, this is not always possible due to exams, holidays, etc. affecting our tutors themselves, as we work with students and flexi staff.

If you cancel within 24 hours of the start of a lesson, we are no longer able to adjust our schedule. For this reason, we are unable to offer a refund. However, if you are unable to attend due to illness (with a doctor’s note), you may make up that lesson.

To ensure continuity and quality, our courses continue as normal on public holidays and during school holidays. You can always see the dates on which the lessons take place in the course details.

When you view the details of your booking, you’ll always see the rates for the series or the session.

We use Mollie as our payment provider and offer the following payment options: Bankcontact, Mastercard, Visa and iDEAL.

We work in partnership with Zuuvr, a Belgian company that provides 100% purified water, free from chlorine. This ensures 100% natural, chlorine-free water. No dry skin, no odour. Just pure swimming water, soft and clear like spring water.
This is all fully automated: measuring, regulating, flushing, dosing… everything happens at just the right time, without any wastage.
Everything under control, always ready, always in balance: no more worries about cloudy water or manual interventions. The filtration system keeps itself in top condition.

What is natural swimming water?

For us, it’s all about exercise, health and water. But water that’s just right. No smell of chlorine, no red eyes. Just pure. That’s why we choose naturally filtered water using the ZUUVR system.

Swimming in natural waters means:

ZUUVR Zero is not a traditional filter system. No chemicals, no gimmicks. Just nature: clever bacteria, minerals and a circulation system that keeps the water truly clean. 100% eco-friendly. 100% healthy.

Swim the way it’s meant to be swum.

Our local swimming pools are also available on an hourly basis for external partners such as physiotherapists, residential care centers, or sports clubs.
